Emma Abbott will be talking about stress – what it is, where it comes from, why we experience it, how do we know when we’re stressed – the impacts it has on our lives …
Stress affects our sleep, relationships, work, resilience, wellbeing and over-all happiness with life. We look at the fact that stress is not external, it is 100% internal; Stress starts with a thought, the thought releases hormones / neuro-chemicals affecting our nervous system and in turn, our mind and physiology. Challenges and pressures help us achieve great things…however stress, especially an accumulation of stress (cortisol and adrenaline) in our system has quite a detrimental effect.
The good news is meditation can help with all of the symptoms of stress! There is an abundance of scientific research supporting the incredible benefits that meditation offers and I will be discussing some of this incredible data.
Emma is currently working with a number of companies including Macquarie, Jellis Craig and Vitality Works on a weekly basis to support them with stress through mediation.
