Growing a Business in Australia
January 31, 2023 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am
Free
Each week there is a Business Referrers meeting which provides a friendly and productive meeting opportunity for local small business owners to share referrals and grow their businesses using the membership as a platform for new ideas, products and services. We have a guest presenter each week who provides information from their areas of expertise.
In this session, Jim Song will talk about his business journey, which includes his hero, the car he’s passionate about and his team together with his local business partner. As well as the successful companies Jim’s assisted in the past, he will also share a few short stories to illustrate how he stands out from the competition with the substantial value he can create for customers, end users and business partners.

About the Presenter

Jim Song, On Song System Software
During his years as a business leader in multi-national enterprises, Jim Song’s his primary focus was on business strategy, and has been devoted to creating system solutions with key clients, and not so much the admin duties, regular meetings and daily operations. Free from the micro-management, his staff – from the director level to the junior engineers – were therefore capable to implement projects with a strong sense of ownership and great level of efficiency. When Jim made the hard decision to move on and founded eTravel Software Technology after 15 years serving as a Senior Manager, here in Australia he renamed his company to On Song System Software.
28 years ago, Jim married Susan, and chose to keep their life less complicated and to maintain connection to each other over time and space, we decided not to have children. Susan is a strong support for the HR and Finance functions in my company.
Other than his work, which will continuously be his priority in next 2-3 decades, Jim enjoys the balance of life with trips to resorts around the world and his passion for classical music. Going to a symphony concert once a week, can really cheer up his life and he started to play piano two years ago. Though the progress after many practice sessions seems not significant, Jim is so proud of the “classical” atmosphere he’s brought into his living space – just like he designed a whole software system on my own many years ago.
